Based on the latest research into neuroscience (the science of the brain), this short course will teach you the basic science/the mechanics behind emotions and stress so you understand the importance of the daily exercises you’re asked to do. These quick, simple little exercises that can be incorporated into busy daily life with ease. Some are so quick, they can be done while waiting for someone to answer a phone, while sitting on the loo or waiting for your coffee. Others require 10 minutes max!

THE SECRET is to learn and apply one technique at a time. Next is associating the new technique with a behaviour that you already do several times a day such as getting a drink, putting on a seat belt. This helps you REMEMBER to do it frequently thereby creating a new habit with ease. Then you add another technique and so on…

Releasing Childhood Trauma from the Body

We all know that trauma affects the way we think and behave. Traditional therapy helps us to understand what we went through at a rational level. You do the work. You heal. You think you’re good then BAM. Triggered. Behaving in ways that add to your shame and disapproval of yourself!

Neuroscience has now proven that trauma is stored in the body, creating a nervous system that is hypervigilant to any sign of stress. A situation occurs. We feel an emotion that we felt at the time of the trauma and we’re back in fight/flight/freeze mode behaving like a child. The nervous system messages the brain, shutting down the rational areas, where you’ve done all the work, leaving only the survival brain operating.

In this group coaching course you will learn the basic science behind trauma and the stress response. Once you understand this, you’ll learn tools to help you ‘reprogram’ your nervous system. The closed group will provide safety, a place to share your stories, journeys, emotions and strategies that have helped you heal. It will normalise much of what you’re going through – from self-esteem, financial strain, to addictions (comfort eating /spending, drugs, alcohol, sex, busyness – anything to distract, numb and avoid)
